Klinsmann: Ribery going nowhere
Thursday 26 February, 2009

Bayern Munich Coach Jurgen Klinsmann insists Franck Ribery will remain with the Bavarian giants despite increasing interest from Juventus.

The 25-year-old France international has been linked with a move to the Bianconeri who are anxious to replace the aging Pavel Nedved.

When asked about the future of his star player, Klinsmann replied: “Ribery will stay at Bayern Munich for a long time.

“I know that Franck is well here and happy to stay. If other clubs are interested in him it's thanks to the dimension of his game he has built with us.

“We are talking about an extraordinary player,” Klinsmann told L'Equipe. “But we are confident about the future. He'll stay with us for a long time.”

Only last week, Ribery's agent Alain Migliaccio told Turin based daily Tuttosport that a move to Juventus wasn't out of the question.

“Franck will play with Bayern also next season,” Migliaccio said. “It's not the moment to talk about contract renewals.

“Franck to Juve? It's not impossible. To say today what will happen tomorrow is difficult, but it's not an impossible dream.”

Ribery scored twice and set up another last night as Bayern beat Sporting Lisbon 5-0 in the first leg of the Champions League Second Round.
