Baptista has no fear of Gunners
Tuesday 24 February, 2009

Roma forward Julio Baptista insists his teammates have nothing to fear from his former side Arsenal.

Baptista spent the 2006-07 campaign on loan with the Gunners where he had a less than glorious spell.

The Brazilian is ready to return to his past as Roma take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the first leg of Champions League last 16 this evening.

“I think that we are favourites for this clash,” Baptista is quoted as saying in the Daily Star.

“In my opinion the loss of Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Eduardo and Emmanuel Adebayor are just too much for them to deal with right now.

“We all know that Arsenal are a dangerous team, but our chances are greatly increased by the fact that they are missing several players.

“We are expecting a difficult game and there will be a heated atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium.

“But we have nothing to fear and it is a major boost that we have the second leg at home,” he concluded.
