Milan rubbish takeover talk
Tuesday 24 February, 2009

Milan have made an official statement denying rumours that the Arab group that own Manchester City had started negotiations for a stake in the club.

The Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment is controlled by Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who owns Manchester City.

There were reports in the Corriere della Sera that Mansour was trying to buy a 40 per cent share in Milan and that Marina Berlusconi, the President of the Diavolo's parent company Finivest had agreed.

However, Milan have categorically denied that any such talks are taking place.

“Regarding the reports printed in the Corriere della Sera this morning about potentially selling stakes in the club, Finivest and Milan want to communicate that there is no truth in the stories,” a statement reads.
