Juventus may be nine points behind leaders Inter, but President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli believes they can still win the title.
“Our Scudetto hopes are not yet lost. There is a sizeable gap, but we have kept it steady for another week,” said the chief.
They would have been even further back had they not beaten Palermo 2-0 in Sicily on Saturday evening, as Inter won 2-1 away to Bologna.
“[Coach Claudio] Ranieri and I have been in agreement for several weeks on how to approach the title race.
“Clearly if Inter continue at this pace, then even if the other teams win, their victory will be inevitable. But we have to try and be there when the Nerazzurri slip up.”
A decisive encounter will see Inter and Juve go head-to-head at the Olimpico in Week 32.
When these teams met at San Siro on November 22, Jose Mourinho’s men emerged 1-0 winners thanks to a shinned Sulley Ali Muntari goal.
