Jose Mourinho thinks Inter are “in the best condition” to take on Manchester United after a gritty win in Bologna.
The Nerazzurri could go 12 points clear at the top of Serie A if Juventus lose at Palermo this evening.
“These three points give me particular satisfaction because we earned them against a gritty Bologna side,” said the Coach.
Esteban Cambiasso and a late Mario Balotelli free kick cancelled out the temporary equaliser from Miguel Angel Britos.
“There are still 30 points up for grabs, it is too early to declare the title race over. We only prepared for this game and the only thing we did with the Manchester United match in mind was train on defending set pieces.”
Now Inter are already looking ahead to Tuesday's Champions League showdown with holders United at San Siro.
“Manchester are arriving during our best moment of form,” grinned Mourinho.
“I want my players to have the great joy of playing this game without the fear of going out in the second round.
“That is because I have immense confidence we will do it. They are a very dangerous side from set plays, but I expect a fantastic performance.”
