Siena boss Marco Giampaolo admits he’ll face a very different Roma side on Saturday, but that won’t make his task any simpler.
The Giallorossi are preparing for the Champions League match with Arsenal and are without suspended duo Simone Perrotta and Daniele De Rossi.
The injured Marco Cassetti, Jeremy Menez, Alberto Aquilani and Max Tonetto have also been left behind, while Mirko Vucinic should be rested.
“It will be a different Roma considering their absences, but in our first meeting earlier this season they missed Francesco Totti and Vucinic, playing with Julio Baptista as their centre-forward.
“A team as strong as Roma manages to overcome these problems and I am sure whoever steps on to the field will be of the highest quality,” noted Giampaolo.
“After all, we are taking on a top drawer squad. We will still need to put in a great performance, especially in terms of intensity and working as a unit, hoping this can be enough to earn us a positive result.”
Siena also have their own issues, as captain Simone Vergassola sits out a ban, while Mario Frick is not 100 per cent ready after a muscular problem.
