Ancelotti keeps Kaka back
Sunday 7 December, 2008

Despite scoring the winning goal today, Carlo Ancelotti warns Kaka must get used to playing in a deeper role.

“We've got to stop it with this story that Kaka is a hitman. He is an extraordinary player and it's ridiculous to say he doesn't score enough,” moaned the Milan Coach after a 1-0 win over Catania.

“He played very well today and at this moment in time needs to play in a slightly deeper role with just one striker as a reference point.

“Milan did well today and created many scoring opportunities, so the only reason it was such a slender scoreline was down to the Sicilian's goalkeeper.”

The Rossoneri were forced into a tactical reshuffle because Ronaldinho, Clarence Seedorf, Andrea Pirlo, Massimo Ambrosini, Daniele Bonera, Alessandro Nesta, Pippo Inzaghi and Marco Borriello were injured.

To make matters worse, Gennaro Gattuso picked up a yellow card and will be suspended for next week's Scudetto showdown with Juventus.

“We have many absentees in midfield and it is essential to get them back so that we can be competitive. At this moment Inter are the most consistent side and play good football.”
