| Mazzarri bemoans Belgian loss |
Thursday 4 December, 2008 |

Sampdoria boss Walter Mazzarri was understandably disappointed at last night's 3-0 defeat against Standard Liege.
The Blucerchiati were no match for their Belgian opponents and Mazzarri was made to regret resting some of his main men.
Now Samp must pick themselves up before the Derby della Lanterna against Genoa this weekend.
When you lose like this and play in this way it means something wasn't right on a mental level, Mazzarri stressed.
I'm just sorry for the performance we put in because it doesn't reflect what we are capable of.
After this poor showing I am expecting a positive reaction and a show of pride in the derby.
Sampdoria's UEFA Cup campaign rests on their final Group C encounter with Spanish giants Sevilla on December 18.
