Milito puts Genoa first
Wednesday 3 December, 2008

Genoa hotshot Diego Milito says he'll forget about the Capocannoniere crown when facing Sampdoria on Sunday. “Winning is what counts,” he roared.

The Argentine sensation is the Serie A top scorer with 11 goals so far this term, two clear of Fiorentina's Alberto Gilardino, but he's only after the three points in Week 15.

“I would like to score at least one goal against Sampdoria, but the most important thing is that we win the game,” said the South American.

“The fans know that we will give our all for them and the Rossoblu jersey,” he added in the knowledge that Doria edged the derbies last term with a 0-0 draw and 1-0 win.

“We'll do all that is possible to get a derby win that has been missing for some time and offer a great performance on Sunday night.”

While Milito will be a threat on one side of Marassi, the summer signing from Real Zaragoza respects the danger which Antonio Cassano will pose - even if he doubts he will make the difference.

“Cassano is a great and I played against him in Spain when he was at Real Madrid,” added the striker. “But the game will be decided by one of the teams as a whole.”

Sampdoria go into the tie after a 1-0 loss at Cagliari, while Genoa's 100 per cent home record was halted with a 1-1 draw against Bologna in Week 14.
