Inter are six points clear at the top of the Serie A table, but Jose Mourinho insists they are “not even halfway there yet.”
A fourth consecutive Scudetto is on the cards after rivals Juventus and Milan fell behind, though it is only 14 weeks into the campaign.
“The victory over Napoli is without doubt already forgotten,” said the Portuguese tactician after that 2-1 result on Sunday.
“Now we have concentrate on the important Saturday game with Lazio and remember the season is not even halfway there yet.”
Inter have only lost one Serie A game all season - the Milan derby - but were shaken out of their complacency in the Champions League.
A 1-0 home defeat to Panathinaikos was enough to wake the side up, but still qualified them for the next round.
Mourinho has been leading the public call for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to win the Ballon d'Or, but he only came ninth with 30 points behind last year's winner Kaka on 31. Cristiano Ronaldo lifted the trophy with 446 points.
“I would have preferred it if one of our players had won it,” commented the ex-Chelsea Coach.
