| Dessena rates Samp's chances |

As Sampdoria prepare to face Standard Liege tomorrow, star midfielder Daniele Dessena states his belief that the Blucerchiati can win the UEFA Cup.
Walter Mazzarri's men were drawn in a 'Group of Death' alongside Partizan, Standard Liege, Stuttgart and Sevilla.
Samp won their opener against Partizan and drew with Stuttgart, so a point against Standard on Wednesday evening would be sufficient to book a place in the last 32.
“This game against Liege certainly won't be easy,” Dessena said.
“But we want to be amongst the contenders in Europe and we have the hunger to come back from Belgium with points in our pocket.
“We will work as hard as we can. We have always done well in the Cup and we are just looking for consistency.
“Besides a victory would undeniably be good for morale ahead of the derby against Genoa at the weekend.”
