Fiorentina President Andrea Della Valle has spoken of his delight at the form of summer signing Alberto Gilardino.
The 26-year-old joined the Viola in May after a disappointing three years with the Milan and has rediscovered the form he showed at Parma, scoring 12 goals in 15 appearances.
Its been the most important investment of our management, Della Valle admitted. We had followed him for a while.
He only needed to find a little serenity again, just like those people who go to a big city and find it hard to settle.
We, however, are over the moon with how Gila has settled in Florence. He is a good lad, a lad of quality who is still hungry for success.
Della Valle also had words for Gilardinos striker partner, Adrian Mutu, who is said to be unhappy at missing out on the opportunity to move to Roma in the summer.
You already know everything about that story, Della Valle told Sky Italia. We put it all on the table and understood that we should deal with him. We came to an agreement in as little as five minutes with a lot of good sense.
Mutu was Fiorentinas top scorer last season and has continued his purple patch in the current campaign, finding the net in six of his 10 appearances.
