Zenga wants Dica stay
Sunday 28 December, 2008

Catania boss Walter Zenga insists Nicolae Dica remains in his plans despite rumours linking him with a move back to Romania.

The 28-year-old midfielder joined the Elefanti from Steaua Bucharest in the summer, but has failed to hold down a starting place.

“Our No. 10 has to know that his future is with Catania,” said Zenga who famously coached Steaua between 2004 and 2005.

“I have spoken with him many times and I hope that he listens to me because at the moment there are no conditions for his return to Romania.

“Nicolae has all my trust and respect and I am convinced that he could be very important to the team in the second half of the season.”

Dica has made just three appearances in Serie A for Catania and is concerned that his lack of playing time is threatening his place in the Romania side.
