Inter President Massimo Moratti wants 2009 to be just as satisfying as the last 12 months and has once again set his eyes on Champions League glory.
The 63-year-old oil magnate famously sacked Roberto Mancini in the summer after he failed to deliver success in Europe.
Moratti hired former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as Mancinis replacement under the proviso that he took Inter to the next level on the continent.
We are satisfied with the victories obtained, said Moratti in an interview with Sky Italia. We are getting used to being the centre of attention. With all the faults, errors and defeats its actually been a rather good year.
Speaking of his expectations for 2009, Moratti added: We hope for a year of great satisfaction. The Champions League remains an important bet, but the basic objective will always be the Scudetto.
Reflecting on 2008, Moratti was also keen to open the door to Adriano, the Brazilian striker who continues to cause trouble at the club.
With him there is a rapport of trust, concluded Moratti. Its important that he has faith in our way of managing everything and the respect we have for him.
He has to stay strong and serious because he is a good boy. He has all the potential and it would be a shame if he were to go to another team to do well. I would be happy for him, but unhappy for us.
