Genoa have shattered reports that Inter were assessing a cheeky January swoop for Serie A top scorer Diego Milito.
Reports on Wednesday claimed that the Nerazzurri wanted the Argentine on loan for the rest of the season.
Although the Italian giants were said to be willing to offer three players in exchange for the Argentine, Genoa chief Enrico Preziosi has rejected the rumour.
Ive not received any offer, Preziosi noted. I read the newspapers and thought that Inter are more than welcome to make a bid, but my response will be a negative one.
What if I was offered Nicolas Burdisso, Mario Balotelli and Victor Obinna in return? Ill simply say no deal.
Following Preziosis firm rejection, it now appears that the Italian giants are looking elsewhere for a striker who has goals in him.
Stories in some sections of the Press on Saturday morning are suggesting that Marco Di Vaio, also at the top of the scoring charts with Milito, is a possible target.
Another option which Inter are assessing is Cagliari youngster Robert Acquafresca. The Under-21 international is part-owned by Inter and is currently again excelling in Sardinia. |
