Torino boss Walter Novellino has asked his club to make a January bid for Sergio Volpi, reports claim.
Novellino, nicknamed Monzon, was re-appointed as Granata boss this month after the relegation threatened outfit axed Gianni De Biasi for the third time in his career.
Although the squad looks well suited to Novellinos trademark 4-4-2 formation, stories claim that he would love to be re-united with Volpi.
The latter, currently at Bologna, is a disciple of Novellino after being handed the playmaker role during spells together at Venezia, Piacenza and Sampdoria.
Volpi, now 34, left Doria in the summer and has made 10 appearances in Serie A with Bologna so far this term, scoring two goals.
