Atalanta striker Sergio Floccari has been strongly linked with Roma, but his agent maintains there's no truth in the rumours.
Floccari has fired eight goals so far this term and has won plaudits across the peninsula with some even suggesting he deserves a place in the Italy side.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reported two days ago that Roma were plotting an audacious bid for the 27-year-old.
If only it were true! Floccari's agent Claudio Vigorelli told Laroma24.it.
In reality it is just rumours. Of course the player is doing well and has scored eight times this term.
Sergio is at the peak of his career and it's only natural that he would be grabbing the attention of some big clubs.
Atalanta President Alessandro Ruggeri has admitted that Floccari could be ready for a bigger stage.
Atalanta are a club that have to resign themselves to selling off their most valuable assets, he explained. It's the ethos of the club.
Obviously the key is to sell your jewels off at their best time and Sergio is without a doubt a jewel.
In June we will be ready to weigh up the situation together and find a solution that works for both parties.
