Cristiano Del Grosso vented his fury after Siena’s controversial defeat. “Inter did absolutely nothing to earn a win handed them by the linesman.”
The Tuscans were livid after Douglas Maicon’s goal decided last night’s 2-1 result despite the fact he was a couple of yards offside.
“It was an incredible defeat,” slammed full-back Del Grosso. “Inter did absolutely nothing to earn a win that was handed to them by the linesman. The mistake was so bad, it doesn’t even need to be commented on.”
Coach Marco Giampaolo also suggested the praise from all quarters was “worthless” because giants like Inter still tend to get the benefit of the doubt.
“Unfortunately, the teams that are fighting against relegation always have to battle more than any others,” continued Del Grosso.
“I don’t understand why the stronger sides are always given the advantage by officials. However, we are not downhearted, as we are aware of the great performance we put in.”
