Becks passes Milan medical
Saturday 20 December, 2008

David Beckham was greeted by supporters at Malpensa airport and has undergone a two-hour medical with Milan doctors.

The media whirlwind that is Becks and wife Victoria hit the Italian shores at 09.10 UK time this morning, when their private flight touched down at Malpensa.

The plane was provided by Milan President (and Italian Prime Minister) Silvio Berlusconi and Beckham was greeted at the airport by director Umberto Gandini, photographers, journalists, cameramen and fans.

While she drove towards the Four Seasons Hotel in Via Gesù, he made his way in a BMW to the La Betulle clinic.

A two-hour medical passed without incident, as he underwent stress tests, cardio and other routine examinations.

It was reported that David was able to speak some Italian with the medical staff, as he has been taking lessons during the close season of the MLS.

He will reunite with wife Victoria for lunch before meeting with general manager Adriano Galliani.

The presentation Press conference at San Siro will begin at 18.00 UK time.
