England manager Fabio Capello assures his fellow countrymen that the Premier League sides “are afraid of the Italians.”
The Champions League draw has paired Juventus against Chelsea, Inter with Manchester United and Roma for Arsenal.
“The draw was diabolical, but the English sides are just as afraid of the Italians,” said Capello in the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“When you are face to face with teams like Juve, Inter and Roma, you certainly cannot be comfortable.”
The English media reacted with relative relief at picking the Serie A trio, but the Three Lions boss points out no result is out of the question.
“It is impossible to make predictions, but these games will certainly give entertainment to the fans.
“It’s just a shame that three of these six sides will have to leave Europe so early.”
Curiously, Capello has worked as a Coach at two of the Italian clubs in question.
He began his management career at Milan, then won the Scudetto in his five seasons at Roma before two consecutive titles at Juventus, although the latter two were revoked in the Calciopoli scandal.
