| Bologna win satisfies Spalletti |
Thursday 18 December, 2008 |
|
Luciano Spalletti was pleased with Roma's hard-fought Coppa Italia win over Bologna and hailed Mirko Vucinic's restrained celebration.
The capital club edged out a spirited Bologna to reach the last eight of the Cup, but they needed goals from Vucinic in the 83rd and 86th minute.
The Montenegrin international was also the hero with a late winner against Cagliari last weekend, which he celebrated by removing his shorts and shirt.
In the first half Bologna made life difficult for us, Spalletti told Datasport.
But the lads put in a really good performance and I would like to draw attention to the way that Vucinic celebrated - against Cagliari he was just affected by the tension of the moment.
We are on a good run and we will fight hard to try and beat our record of 11 consecutive wins.
However, as we saw this evening, there are tough sides lining up against us and it is never easy.
Roma's final game of 2008 is a testing trip to Sicily to face Catania at the Stadio Massimino.
