Adriano is reportedly flying back to Brazil and might not return, so Inter are offering L’Imperatore and £10m cash for Didier Drogba.
L’Imperatore’s time at San Siro seems to be well and truly over after another week of controversy and newspapers claiming he has returned to his hard-partying ways.
The club issued an official denial of the story that he was sent home from training for turning up a little worse for wear, but new reports suggest he is flying back to Brazil tonight.
Even if he is injured, this is unusual protocol allowing a player to leave early for the Christmas break and many are wondering if he will be back for training on January 2.
Although he spent the last six months in Brazil with Sao Paolo, it is claimed Adriano would prefer a move to another European club this time around.
That could well fall into Inter’s hands, as they could use the Brazilian international as leverage for Chelsea hitman Drogba.
Adriano is still well respected by Felipe Scolari and would be welcomed at Stamford Bridge, while Drogba has made it clear he would love to be reunited with Jose Mourinho.
When the Ivory Coast international was reportedly caught having dinner with Inter director of sport Marco Branca, the price-tag was astronomical, but times have changed.
The Italian newspapers suggest that the original £30m demands have dropped to just £10m plus Adriano.
Drogba is fuelling the rumours too, again suggesting his long-term future with the Blues is far from secure.
"I have spoken with Scolari and he knows that I want to play," Drogba told the Daily Mirror. "I am only thinking about Chelsea at the moment.
"At the end of the season I will talk to the club about my future, but I have a contract with Chelsea. Not for a moment have I thought I will leave in January. My dream is to win the title and fight for trophies this season in Europe and in England."
