| Inter captain Javier Zanetti is somewhat surprisingly hoping to meet Manchester United in the Champions League last 16.
The Italian champions angered Coach Jose Mourinho by losing to Werder Bremen in their final group game and finishing as runners-up.
Now Inter run the risk of facing one of Europe's giants, but Zanetti seems unfazed.
“I think finishing second is the same as finishing first in your group,” Zanetti claimed on Sky Sport Italia.
“At the moment Barcelona have shown that they are a dangerous side in La Liga, but we'll have to see what kind of form they are in come February.
“I would like to play against Manchester United because I like them as a team and the atmosphere at Old Trafford is special.”
Inter have a great chance to extend their six-point lead at the top of Serie A this weekend as they host Chievo while Juventus host Milan.
“It's a balanced League,” Zanetti insisted. “It will be difficult to the end.
“We can't be interested in this talk of us breaking away because it's still early. There are lots of games left and it's a race to the finish.”
