Ascoli 1-1 Triestina
It was honours even between Ascoli and Triestina on a stormy night at the Stadio Del Duca. The Woodpeckers took the lead slightly fortuitously when Cioffi's effort crept past a wrong-footed Agazzi. But Triestina struck back when ex-Ascoli man Antonelli surprised Taibi with a long-range effort. Agazzi denied Bucchi twice before half-time but the conditions ruined the second period with Antonelli's disallowed goal for offside the most exciting incident.

Bari 1-1 Brescia
Bari had most of the possession, but had to wait until stoppages to snatch a point against promotion hopefuls Brescia. Bonomi's handling offence gave the Rondinelle the advantage just before half-time, as Caracciolo coolly converted the penalty. The win seemed to be in the bag, but deep into stoppages the referee pointed to the spot again for Cavalli's controversial equaliser.

Empoli 0-0 Albinoleffe

Mantova A-A Vicenza
Game abandoned due to flooded pitch.
Parma 4-1 Ancona
Parma made the most of their firepower to get the first victory under their belts. Although Mastronunzio quickly answered former Milan prodigy Paloschi's opener despite initially hitting the post, Cristiano Lucarelli struck twice with a diving header and a second half penalty for Rincon's foul on Leon to put the points under lock and key. Matteini put the final nail in Ancona's coffin late on.

Piacenza 1-1 Livorno
Francesco Tavano continued his lethal form for Livorno, but the Tuscans could only manage a 1-1 draw on their trip to Piacenza. The visitors had the better of procedings and went ahead just after the half-hour mark when Tavano hit his fourth goal of the campaign with a right foot blast that caught Cassano off his line. The ex-Empoli man celebrated by folding his arms and standing back-to-back with Volpe. Danilevicius could've made it two for Livorno when he rounded the 'keeper but Rickler intervened after he took too many touches. After the break, the Papaveri fought back through Graffiedi and held on for a point after Cassano made a super stop from Volpe.

Pisa 1-0 Modena
Pisa got off to a dismal start to this season, but stuttered towards this much-needed victory. With 17 minutes left on the clock, Joelson was brought down for Greco to convert a penalty.

Salernitana 3-2 Frosinone
This game was postponed from Saturday because of the discovery of an unexploded WWII bomb and the fixture exploded to life on Monday evening. Newly promoted Salerntana prevailed to go top of the table but the visitors went ahead through Eder's masterpiece and dominated the first half hour. Tricario came on as a substitute and the Granata rattled the woodwork twice before Tricario levelled. Di Napoli scored a superb goal for 2-1 before goalkeeper Sicignano walked when he pulled down Scarpa and Fava converted the penalty but Salernitana didn't make life easy for themselves. Peccarisi was needlessly sent off for kicking out at an opponent and Eder made it a nervy final few minutes when he slotted home a dubious penalty for a challenge by Kyriazis.
