Weah, George (Monrovia, Liberia, 1/10/66)
First came to prominence in the French League with Monaco and PSG, so when Milan went looking for an heir to Marco Van Basten they selected the muscular Liberian. He stayed for five good seasons between 1995 and 2000 helping win some major prizes before his career fizzled out at Chelsea, Manchester City and Marseille. Then, unusually, he attempted to become his countrys President, narrowly missing out.
Wilkins, Ray (Hillingdon, England, 14/9/56)
Before Milan found their Dutchmen they tried to build a team around English players with less impressive effect. Wilkins was probably the best of the bunch, playing three seasons in the mid 1980s. For the rest of his career he was a playmaking midfielder with Manchester United, Chelsea, Glasgow Rangers and QPR amongst others.
Wilson, Giuseppe (Darlington, England, 27/10/45)
A Lazio legend, playing for over a decade in the 1970s and helping them out of Serie B and toward the Scudetto in 1974. In total he appeared over 300 times in the top Division for the capital club and also represented Italy on three occasions thanks to his Italian ancestry.
