| Fiorentina striking star Adrian Mutu has stated his satisfaction at signing a new deal with the Viola.
The Romanian has become the talisman of Cesare Prandelli’s side with 33 goals in two years in Tuscany.
Mutu flirted with a move to Roma this summer before agreeing to extend his contract until 2012 after the Gigliati refused a bid of around £18m.
“I am happy to stay at Fiorentina and things have ended up as I wanted,” Mutu insisted.
“The important thing was that everything was resolved and my wishes have been met.
“More than anything I always wanted to stay and continue to play a part in this project,” he concluded.
Reports suggest that Mutu will earn around £1.8m per season until June 2012.
