Mourinho predicts German grilling
Monday 4 August, 2008

Inter Coach Jose Mourinho is expecting a stern test when he takes his side to Germany to face Bayern Munich tomorrow.

The Nerazzurri’s pre-season has been far from ideal with two defeats in the Trofeo TIM and a serious defensive injury crisis looming.

Mourinho’s next task is to lead a depleted team out at the Allianz Arena for the Pirelli Trophy and the odds seem to be against the Beneamata.

“Bayern have already played their Super Cup and they are almost ready to start their Bundesliga campaign,” Mourinho explained on Die Roten’s website.

“They are ready and we are not. We have only been training for 15 days because Serie A doesn’t start until the end of August.

“I’m expecting it to be a difficult game for us, but that is fine because I want things to be tough now so that they are easier later.

“Of course we will be trying to win, but without Marco Materazzi, Cristian Chivu, Walter Samuel, Ivan Cordoba and Nelson Rivas I may need Bayern President Franz Beckenbauer to play in defence for me!”

Reports suggest that Inter could swoop for Romanian defender Mirel Radoi before the end of the day to add to their thin squad.
