| Palermo chief Maurizio Zamparini claims the Rosanero can be a stronger team because of the departure of Amauri.
Amauri was the undoubted star for the Sicilians last term, but they flopped to a disappointing mid-table finish in spite of his 15 goals.
The Brazilian goal machine has left for Juventus and Zamparini hopes the other members of the squad will step up to fill in for him.
It wont be easy, just as it was difficult when Luca Toni left, the Aquile President admitted. Players like him dont show up often.
But we finished 11th with Amauri and I think we can now do better because we have the kind of team we didnt have last season.
We were too dependent on Amauri whereas I am hoping that this term we will be more of a unit.
Palermo have brought in a host of new faces over the course of the summer and Zamparini has high hopes for his new recruits.
Igor Budan is a very important player for us and the Coaches tell me that he is doing well, the ex-Venezia supremo revealed.
As for Tullio De Melo, we need to be patient and let him adjust because Italian football is very different from French football.
We are a good team trying to find the right mix and I think this solid group can do well.
