| Inter captain Javier Zanetti has no fear of Juventus in spite of the Old Lady’s commanding performance against Artmedia last night.
The Italian champions travel to Benfica tomorrow for the Eusebio Cup and are in high spirits after victories over Bayern Munich and Ajax.
But they were given a reminder last night that they will need to be at their best to retain their grip on the Scudetto this term as Juve lit up the European stage.
“Am I scared of the Bianconeri? No, we aren’t scared of anyone, but we respect everyone,” Zanetti insisted. “I’d always bet on us to win.
“We are working very well and we want to continue on this road so that we can get to the first official game against Roma in the best possible shape.
“It’s true that we have a few injuries, but everyone’s recovering and even Adriano is calm because now we know that his injury isn’t as serious as feared.”
Zanetti refused to speculate on the relative merits of playing a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 formation tomorrow.
“It’s up to us players to be intelligent and learn to adapt to whatever choices Mourinho makes,” he said.
“We have a flexible unit that allows us to play in several different ways.”
