CL: Man Utd stars 'rest' for Roma
Wednesday 9 April, 2008

David Pizarro, Simone Perrotta and Juan are back in the Roma side, but Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney are on the bench for tonight’s quarter-final.

Manchester United have a 2-0 first leg lead going into this Champions League clash and Sir Alex Ferguson is so confident of qualification that he has rested his biggest stars.

Rooney and Ronaldo scored at the Olimpico last week, but are on the bench for the second leg, leaving space for Carlos Tevez.

As for the Giallorossi, they have Juan back to full fitness and Perrotta returns from a ban, while Francesco Totti has not even made the trip to Old Trafford due to a thigh strain.

Pizarro has won the battle with Alberto Aquilani to start in midfield, Amantino Mancini and Rodrigo Taddei complete the support trident behind Mirko Vucinic.

Check back on the Football Italia website for half-time and full reports as well as extensive post-match comments.
