Zanetti suffers thigh relapse
Thursday 3 April, 2008

Juventus midfielder Cristiano Zanetti is back on the sidelines after a recurrence of the thigh injury he picked up against Genoa.

The former Inter man was injured at Marassi at the start of the month, but he seemed to have shaken off his problem in record time to return at a crucial juncture of the season.

However, Zanetti reported a pain at the start of training yesterday and was unable to play any part.

The 30-year-old is now set to miss out on this weekend’s trip to Palermo’s Stadio Renzo Barbera and is likely to focus on recovering in time for the Old Lady’s crunch match against Milan on April 12.

Hasan Salihamidzic and Mohamed Sissoko are the likely midfield pair with Mauro Camoranesi and Pavel Nedved on the wings.

Meanwhile, on-loan stopper Guglielmo Stendardo is celebrating passing an exam in administrative law at the University of Rome with flying colours. He is now just three exams away from completing his degree in law.
