Kalac: We can beat Inter
Wednesday 30 April, 2008

Milan custodian Zeljko Kalac concedes that the pressure is on the Rossoneri in this weekend’s derby, but he feels they have the quality to win.

The stakes couldn’t be higher for the Derby della Madonnina with Inter needing a win to secure the Scudetto and Milan searching for three points to keep their Champions League qualification hopes alive.

The world champions cut Fiorentina’s advantage in fourth place to two points last weekend but know that a defeat would virtually sentence them to UEFA Cup football next term.

“On Sunday we will go out there knowing that we have to win,” Kalac said on the Milan Channel.

“Sometimes that causes a bit of trouble, but we are on good form and we can approach the game with confidence.

“Inter play with strength and are a physical side, but we play good football and so we can win this match.”

Milan have improved hugely since their elimination from the Champions League and Kalac finished with a wry comment on the reduced demands on the side.

“We always said that we were a bit tired before and if we had only been playing games as regularly as we are now all season we would have already secured fourth and would be on holiday by now,” he claimed.
