Lazio marksman Tommaso Rocchi concedes that President Claudio Lotito was right to blast the side after their thrashing at Juventus last Sunday.
The Biancocelesti suffered another indignity in a miserable campaign when they were trounced 5-2 in Turin.
Chief Lotito angrily berated his side in the aftermath, implying that their could be a cull in the ranks this summer, and one of his star men has backed his view.
“I agree with Lotito,” Rocchi maintained. “I have the same opinion and I think that the things he said were fair.
“We have to apologise to our fans for this bad time. At the moment there is a Press silence, but when we are allowed to speak directly to journalists we will say we are sorry.
“The fans are bitter and so are we. We are professionals and we will accept whatever solution the club chooses.
“We will have to wait and see, but we are well aware of the current situation.
“The main thing is that we must make amends on the pitch, because it’s facts and not words that count. And we have the chance to do that in the Coppa Italia.”
Lazio have reached the semi-finals of the Cup and drew their first leg against Inter 0-0. The return match is set for May 7.
