Francesco Totti does start against Fiorentina, but the tension is sky-high with clashes between fans at the Stadio Franchi.
There were doubts as to whether Totti would be able to play for Roma after his knee injury flared up again on Friday, but he is in the starting XI along with Julio Baptista, Matteo Brighi and David Pizarro.
Marco Cassetti comes in for Max Tonetto, while Simone Perrotta is sent to the stands due to a fitness worry and replaced by Rodrigo Taddei.
Fiorentina field Juan Manuel Vargas in a more advanced position for a 4-4-2 system, headed by Stevan Jovetic and Alberto Gilardino.
There is a strong rivalry between these clubs and it spilled out for a few supporters before kick-off outside the arena.
Around 2,000 Roma fans have reportedly turned up in the city without a ticket for the game and police are trying to keep them apart from the home ultras.
There are claims two Viola fans have been hurt in car accidents, hit by vehicles driven by other supporters.
