Veteran Christian Vieri is “90 per cent sure” of continuing his career in Brazil, confirmed his agent.
The former Inter, Milan, Fiorentina and Atalanta striker rescinded his contract with the Orobici a few weeks ago by mutual consent.
“It is 90 per cent sure that Vieri will play in Brazil,” announced agent Frank Assuncao on Lancenet.
“We just need to reach an agreement over his wages.”
It would be the latest nation for the roaming Italian international after spells in Australia, Italy, Spain and France.
The search for a new club is not going well, though, as Flamengo told the media that they had been offered Vieri and turned him down.
The centre-forward turns 36 in July and has barely featured for Atalanta this season due to injuries with two goals in nine appearances.
