Dinho deal in doubt
Monday 21 April, 2008

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani admits he is unsure whether he can reach an agreement with Barcelona to sign Ronaldinho.

The Brazilian star has been heavily linked with the Rossoneri in recent months and his brother Roberto De Assis, who also acts as his agent, met with Milan officials last week.

“I don't know if we can conclude this piece of business. We do what we regard as opportune on the market,” explained Galliani.

“If there is a chance that we can do something, we will do it. If not, we will change our objectives.

“I never said that we were close to Barcelona. It is one thing to be close to Ronaldinho and another thing entirely to be close to the club.”

The 28-year-old former World Player of the Year is attracting a lot of interest, but is believed to have his sights set on a move to the world champions.

“There are a lot of teams looking at Ronaldinho. I have been working the market for many years now and there is nothing strange in this. If Barcelona accept our conditions we will do it, otherwise no.

“But it's still too soon to be talking about these things, it's only April and we still have a month of the championship to play,” concluded the Rossoneri Vice-President.

Another possible factor is Milan's European qualification, with the club's current position outside the Champions League places thought to be a concern for the Barca No 10.
