Mourinho ‘agrees’ Inter deal
Monday 21 April, 2008

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has struck a deal with Inter, according to The Sun newspaper.

The Portuguese Coach has been repeatedly linked with the job at Via Durini amid confusion over current incumbent Roberto Mancini’s future at the club.

Mancini had told journalists he was leaving after Inter went out of the Champions League in March only to retract his statement and insist he was happy with the Nerazzurri.

Mourinho recently told La Gazzetta dello Sport of his desire to work in Serie A at a club that believes he is the ‘ideal man’, reserving praise for Inter’s President Massimo Moratti.

“He is someone I respect a lot as a person who loves football and his club, but I have never spoken to him,” insisted Mourinho on March 6.

The Sun believes the Special One has now agreed terms and is keen to take his former Chelsea favourites, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, with him in a £35m deal.

Both players’ are believed to be unhappy at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard has allowed his contract to run down and talks over a renewal have dragged on, while Drogba has been associated with a move away from the Blues for some time.
