De Biasi not Inter's doormat
Sunday 20 April, 2008

Gianni De Biasi has a tough debut against leaders Inter, but warns people not to assume Torino are sacrificial lambs.

“I would be very careful at thinking we’re beaten before we even start,” said the Coach who took over from Walter Novellino this week.

“With the strength of our squad we can manage a result. It will be very difficult, but you certainly won’t ever see Toro bow down.”

This is De Biasi’s third stint on the Granata bench and he left his job in Spain with Levante to rescue them from relegation.

It won’t be an easy task, as their final five rounds include encounters with Inter and Roma.

“At least we won’t fear a lack of motivation. Our objective is to pick up six points,” he smiled.

“I believe in our challenge and I love this team. The situation is not desperate, but nor should we rest on that fact.

“I have never broken off that link with the club and the fans. I spoke to my players, I know them well and how to keep them together in the right way.”

However, De Biasi must face Inter without the suspended trio of Alvaro Recoba, Salvatore Lanna and David Di Michele.

The injury list includes Gianluca Comotto, Cesare Natali, Matteo Sereni, Paolo Zanetti and Ivan Franceschini.

De Biasi is expected to field a 4-1-4-1 system with Eugenio Corini between the lines and Roberto Stellone upfront.
