Cesare Prandelli needs to get Fiorentina back on track to cling to fourth place, but they face the improving Palermo on Saturday night.
“Palermo are a good team that could well be flying high right now on the euphoria of their recent victories,” he said after wins over Juventus and Catania.
“I fear Amauri and Fabrizio Miccoli, who are two great strikers. We must not allow them any space on the field.”
The Viola have a tough run-in for the rest of this season, as there are five Serie A rounds to keep hold of a Champions League spot and the UEFA Cup semi-final against Rangers.
“There are only decisive games from now on, so we will be extremely motivated. Everyone wants to end this season on a high,” continued Prandelli.
“I am glad to see we are focusing more and more on entertaining play, as it is through fluid movement that you achieve victories. To finish fourth would be a dream compared to our pre-season objectives.”
Milan’s collapse has seen the Tuscans take control of that fourth Champions League spot, although they are under pressure from the chasing pack that includes Udinese and Sampdoria.
“Milan certainly are not resigned to missing out and could easily win all their remaining matches.”
Franco Semioli is back in the squad after a long-term injury, while it is believed Christian Vieri could start at the centre of the trident, leaving Giampaolo Pazzini on the bench.
Marco Donadel returns from a ban, having missed out on the 2-0 defeat at Inter last week.
Fiorentina squad: Avramov, Dainelli, Donadel, Frey, Gamberini, Gobbi, Jorgensen, Kuzmanovic, Liverani, Montolivo, Mutu, Osvaldo, Pasqual, Pazzini, Potenza, Santana, Semioli, Ujfalusi, Vieri.
