Cirillo: No San Siro surrender
Friday 18 April, 2008

Reggina defender Bruno Cirillo is adamant that the relegation-threatened Calabrians will give Milan a tough test on Sunday.

The Amaranto travel to San Siro as huge underdogs, but they upset the odds to overcome former boss Walter Mazzarri’s Champions League chasing Sampdoria last weekend.

“The win over Sampdoria last Sunday was a very important win for us as players, as a club and for the fans,” Cirillo explained.

“At the moment we need to be more united than ever so that we can concentrate on the battle to stay in Serie A.

“The three points last weekend have allowed us to claw our way back up the table.”

Sunday’s battle is also do or die for Milan, who can’t afford any slip-ups if they are to qualify for next season’s Champions League, but Cirillo doesn’t expect his side to roll over.

“Milan are a huge team, but we haven’t lost yet,” he said. “It is a game like any other and we will go out there looking for three points.

Now our future depends on us, and how we do in the direct confrontations with fellow strugglers.

I don’t think that we need to start doing maths with five games still to play, we just need to win as many games as possible.
