Inter marksman Zlatan Ibrahimovic may have to decide between finishing the season with Inter and resting to ensure he is fit for Euro 2008.
The Swedish international enjoyed a prolific start to the campaign, but his productivity decreased and it emerged that he had been struggling with a knee problem.
Ibra, who has been sidelined since March 29’s game against Lazio, is scheduled to travel to Sweden for 10 days of treatment, but it now seems that Inter may have to do without him for the entirety of their run-in.
“I have tried to train with my teammates, but I did not feel good,” the former Ajax man explained.
“The pain is different from day to day. To heal completely I would have to stop completely for two months, but I don’t want that because of Euro 2008.”
Zlatan will now have to choose between resting ahead of the summer’s events in Austria and Switzerland and making his contribution to Inter’s Scudetto bid.
Roberto Mancini will certainly be without Ibra for the next two games against Torino and Cagliari, but is hoping to have him back for May 4’s derby against Milan.
