Inter have lost Colombian centre-back Nelson Rivas for the rest of the season with ligament damage.
Rivas injured his knee against Bologna last October and his left knee buckled during training this morning.
The 26-year-old was obviously in severe discomfort and scans revealed that he had sustained ligament damage.
For the time being, Rivas will undergo a course of physiotherapy and the club will try and avoid an operation.
The length of the recovery period is still unknown but it is certain that Rivas will be out of action for the rest of the season.
The man nicknamed 'Tyson' has played a peripheral role for the Beneamata since arriving from River Plate in 2007.
