Pippo sets sights on Scudetto
Wednesday 16 April, 2008

Pippo Inzaghi is firing on all cylinders after returning from injury and has set his sights on winning the Scudetto with Milan next term.

The Diavolo’s season is hanging by a thread after last weekend’s 3-2 defeat against Juventus.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are four points away from Champions League qualification and have failed in this season’s Cup competitions, but Inzaghi is staying upbeat.

“I was sad when we were eliminated from the Champions League by Arsenal, but I have been lucky enough to lift that trophy twice,” he said on Studio Sport.

"I really want to win the League title the same number of times.

“Is it over for this Milan side? We did well in the first half against Juventus and things could have been different. This team has given so much and there is a legacy to safeguard.”

After firing braces against Cagliari and Juve, Inzaghi is on red-hot form and there have even been tentative suggestions that he should go to Euro 2008.

“Roberto Donadoni knows me well,” Inzaghi said. “He knows what I can do and my feelings about the Azzurri shirt.

“I played in lots of the qualification games. If I am needed then good, but the important thing is that I train without any problems and keep playing for a great team.”

The Piacenza native concluded by discussing the possibility of Barcelona star Ronaldinho arriving in the summer.

“He is a great champion and champions are very welcome,” Inzaghi declared. “We will be happy if he arrives.”
