Palermo: Amauri-Juve deal 'soon'
Tuesday 15 April, 2008

Amauri is very close to joining Juventus, concedes Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini after today’s meeting. “I think it will happen.”

The patron sat down with Bianconeri President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli, director of sport Alessio Secco and general manager Jean-Claude Blanc.

“We got round the table and looked at the situation,” explained Zamparini as he left the meeting this evening.

“Their interest for Amauri is confirmed. We saw what players they have at their disposal and we’ll see what happens.

“There will be another appointment in about 30 days and from now until then our director of sport Rino Foschi and Juve’s staff will work to reach an agreement and I think it will happen.”

Amauri had also been linked with Europe’s top clubs including Milan, Inter, Roma, Barcelona, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The Brazilian’s price-tag could shoot up soon, as he is in the process of receiving an Italian passport and could choose to play for the Azzurri.

He impressed Juve last week when netting two sensational goals in Palermo’s 3-2 victory.
