Dunga gives Adri encouragement
Tuesday 15 April, 2008

Brazil Coach Carlos Dunga has hinted that Inter outcast Adriano could return to his squad if he continues to fire for Sao Paulo.

The enigmatic hitman was sent back to his homeland to recover from the depression and physical problems that were dogging his time at San Siro.

Adri has come through some tough times at Sao Paulo, but he has hit an impressive 11 goals so far and seems to have rediscovered his killer touch, putting him back on Dunga’s radar.

“He has grown and improved a lot with Sao Paulo,” Dunga explained. “He has some problems at the start, but he is back to the old Adri that we all know.

“Without a doubt he has great potential if he becomes his former self because he is a strong and aggressive player who scores goals.”

Adriano has an impressive scoring ratio for the Selecao with 27 goals in 41 games, but he hasn’t been selected since February 6, 2007 – when he was a substitute in a friendly against Portugal.
