Roma pair bury the hatchet
Tuesday 15 April, 2008

Roma's Christian Panucci and Alexander Doni have made peace after Sunday’s row at Udinese.

The pair argued furiously and had to be separated by teammates after Panucci ducked under a cross that Antonio Di Natale headed in at the back post to put Udinese ahead at the Stadio Friuli.

Panucci appeared to be claiming that Doni should have clearly informed him of Di Natale’s presence, while the Brazilian goalkeeper was furious at the veteran stopper’s decision to leave a dangerous cross.

No harm was done in the end as Roma ran out 3-1 winners and Coach Luciano Spalletti ordered the two men to shake hands at training today in front of their teammates and journalists.

The Giallorossi fans seemed to take Doni’s side in the incident and around 50 turned up to training yesterday to cheer the ‘keeper and parade a banner saying, “Doni – one of us.”
