Francesco Totti is back against Udinese this afternoon and insists Roma “believe we can win the Scudetto.”
The captain has been out of action since suffering a thigh strain during the 1-1 draw at Cagliari three weeks ago and was expected to skip today’s game too, but made a surprise recovery.
“I feel great, trained well and the leg no longer hurts,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.
“I am like a kid again, you just need to see the way I train! This week I even did the step exercises, I felt 10 years younger.”
It is just the news the Giallorossi were waiting for after he missed both legs of their Champions League quarter-final exit to Manchester United.
They are now entirely focused on catching Inter in the Scudetto race and this could be a decisive round.
Roma travel to high-flying Udinese in a game live on Five at 14.00, while this evening the Nerazzurri welcome fourth-placed Fiorentina.
“We believe we can win the Scudetto, but to do that we have to win every game starting from today, even if it will be very difficult.”
