Hector Cuper admits he is planning a tactical revolution for today’s relegation showdown with Empoli.
“During this week we have had time to experiment with some new things. I won’t say we’ll use all of them straight from this weekend, but to fix the team’s problems I have to change the system.”
It is believed he will scrap the 4-4-2 in exchange for a more attacking 4-3-1-2 with Andrea Gasbarroni in a new role as Trequartista.
“I think this game is going to be a real battle,” continued Cuper. “There will be few spaces and everyone must work to resolve that issue.
“It will be a gritty match and both teams know full well what is at stake. This is why I am thinking of these tactical changes, as the individual can only do so much in these situations and the team must work as a unit.”
Cristiano Lucarelli returns from suspension and should partner Igor Budan upfront, leaving Bernardo Corradi on the bench.
