Catania midfielder Pablo Ledesma would be delighted to receive a call from join Argentina boss Diego Maradona.
The former Boca Juniors ace has already debuted with the Seleccion under Alfio Basile and has so far impressed during his spell in Italy.
“I really hope I will be called upon and this will only be possible if I continue to do well in Catania,” noted the 25-year-old.
“Basile already called me twice, but I would be even more delighted if it was Maradona himself to take me into the Albiceleste squad.”
In Sicily there is a large South American contingent with Catania being the most Argentinean team in the campionato.
Ledesma has so far collected 23 appearances with the Rossoblu hitting the back of the net in two occasions and Maradona is reportedly keeping an eye on him.
“Until now I haven’t heard from him, however if he was to call me I would start jumping around with excitement.
“Pretty much like my friend German Denis did, since he went crazy when el Pibe de Oro told him he was going to play for Argentina.”
The South Americans suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat in Bolivia in their last game and, according to our Argentinean sources, Maradona is set to adjust his formation by calling in new players for the coming fixtures.
