CRICKET ROADSHOWS

Devon Malcolm

Week 6 Preview - 15 Jun, Old Trafford

Roadshow investigates the age barrier

Age old problem or old age problem? This week's Cricket Roadshow investigates the continuing blossoming of fast bowling veterans Devon Malcolm (39) and Phil DeFreitas (36), currently turning back the years for Leicestershire.

While England's next generation of fast bowlers vie for inclusion on the winter's Ashes tour Malcolm and DeFreitas have been showing the value of retaining fitness and enthusiasm by continuing to take wickets in the Frizzell County Championship.

Elsewhere on the programme Muttiah Muralitharan discloses his ambition to take 600 Test wickets, Sybil Ruscoe investigates the threat to Old Trafford's Test match status and Darren Gough gives us an update on his recovery from a knee injury.

And, in celebration of England's continuing success at the World Cup the Cricket Roadshow pays its own homage to our footballing heroes by staging a commentator's penalty shootout, due to feature Dermot Reeve, Simon Hughes and Michael Slater.

Derbyshire captain Dominic Cork gets the "60 seconds with Slats" treatment and there will also be all the usual Roadshow features , including a round-up of county cricket and a look at how the 3rd npower Test between England and Sri Lanka is progressing at Old Trafford.
